NFT examples : 15 inspirations

NFT stands for Non Fungible Token. NFTs are new and fascinating. They are unique digital assets that have been in circulation since 2014 and are transacted in cryptocurrency. Used to indicate ownership of a digital object, these tokens are disrupting markets around the world, from art and video games to events and insurance.

Any digital asset can become an NFT. Since the release of NFTs, we have seen:

● works of art

● tweets

● GIFs

● songs

● purchases in video games

Here are 15 examples of NFT projects to inspire you.

1. The origins : CryptoPunk

If we had to choose an image to illustrate the frenzy around the NFT, it would definitely be one of these little pixelated characters called CryptoPunks. There are 10,000 CryptoPunks in total. They have all been generated by an algorithm in a random way. There are certain characteristics from one punk to another, but no two are exactly alike.

Their sales now total $1.62 billion according to Larva Labs, the company behind them. That's more than 15% of the entire NFT market.

2. Trendy profile pics : Bored Ape Yacht Club

CryptoPunks may have kicked off the NFT profile picture trend, but the Bored Ape Yacht Club is making even more inroads with collectors who aren't deeply immersed in crypto culture.

The Bored Ape Yacht Club is promoted as an exclusive social group for NFT holders, and the club is attracting more and more celebrities. They include Jimmy Fallon, Post Mallon, The Chainsmoker, and Logan Paul.

3. NFTs and fashion : Dolce & Gabana

Dolce & Gabbana recently offered for sale nine digital garments and jewelry in the form of NFT. A unique collection entitled Collezione Genesi.

It was designed with and auctioned by UNXD, a platform specialized in luxury and digital culture. It is clear that it has been a great success: the pieces that constitute it would have reached a total of 1,885,719 Ether (about 6.6 million euros). 

4. The insollite poetry : Lindsay Lohan

Lindsay Lohan's electro single, Lullabye, accompanied by a GIF of her bust surrounded by butterflies flapping their wings in rhythm.

5. Earn to play : battles of guardians

Battle of Guardian is a real-time multiplayer PvP NFT game developed by Unreal Engine and based on the Solana network. As the name suggests, it is a fighting game in which players participate in multi-real battles in the virtual world. BOG is a fighting game in which players fight against their opponents to defeat them and win rewards.

6. Modern art NFTs : Beeple

The digital work of Mike Winkelmann aka Beeple, "Everydays: the First 5000 days" is the NFT sold at the highest price so far: it was sold at auction by the auction house Christie's for the sum of 69 million dollars. The artist first broke the market record with a video critical of Donald Trump that sold for $6.6 million.

7. NFTs songs : Grimes' WarNymph digital collection

Ten digital works by Canadian musician Grimes were offered for sale on the specialized platform Nifty Gateway. Among these works, in March 2021, a unique video entitled "Death of the Old" was sold as an NFT for $389,000.

8. Collectible cards : NBA

For example, the NBA has produced trading cards of its players, sold in virtual sleeves, some of which have been purchased for nearly $1,000. 

9. Selling Tweets as NFTs

The first tweet, "just setting up my twttr," written by Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey, which sold for nearly $3 million.

10. Selling Tik Toks as NFTs

The social network TikTok has announced the release of a collection of NFT based on TikToks that have become cult. Called TikTok Moments, it will be composed of six videos of the most influential creators like Lil Nas X or Bella Poarch. 

11. Virtual land : Snoop dog

Popular American rapper Snoop Dogg revealed in late September that he had acquired land in the blockchain-based virtual metaverse The Sandbox and intended to recreate his mansion. On December 2, The Sandbox held a "Snoopverse Land Sale," which allowed participants to purchase land adjacent to the famous hip-hop star's virtual domain.

The strategy, as expected, paid off and the virtual land sold for nearly $450,000.

12. Selling News : 20 Minutes 

In France, the free daily newspaper 20 Minutes turned one of its supplements into a non-fungible token to be auctioned in October in order to "question the value of a piece of information". This six-page supplement entitled "The crazy years of 2020" finally went for 3,000 euros.

13.  Selling the sensational : Banksy

14. Selling Youtube videos as NFT

15. Viral GIFs : Nyan Cat

The "Nyan Cat" GIF. The NFT of the colorful GIF sold for 300 Ether (a cryptocurrency), worth about $561,000 at the time.
